We take a walk to the City Zoo. It’s a nice enough zoo, pleasant to walk through.
We enjoy the lemurs for a while, and are surprised to see one little guy right
at our feet – he’s escaped! We’re not sure what to do, but he suddenly seems to
realize he’s separated from his gang, and jumps up on the chain link fence and
squeezes himself right back through a little fence square! He’s not going to be
so happy if he tries that once he grows fatter.
We
walk along the river back to the city center to get out of the heat at the
movies once again. We’re subjected to Monsters U, an unbelievably disappointing
Disney-Pixar mess. Did anyone consider that eighty-something-year old Billy
Crystal could be a bad choice to voice a college kid monster?
Afterwards,
we’re having a café break, when a giant storm blows in. We run over to the
nearby mall for cover. Rain, wind, and hail crash down hard. It’s over in
thirty minutes, but on our way home we see several big trees have been knocked
down into the streets.
